He was fifteen by this time and when he and his father set off for the Royal Palace he was capture by Tatar Raiders and shelled to a Venetian brothel. But fortunately he wasn't there that long and was bought by a painter and vampire Marius de Romanus. He began his new life by living with Marius' other apprentices and he latched onto Marius and became his constant companion.
He became infatuated with a young woman called Bianca and fell in love with her as did Marius and he spent a lot of time with her during his time there.
At the age of seventeen he drew attention to himself from an Englishman who liked him and it soon became deadly when this Englishman broke into Marius home and killed a couple of the apprentices. Amadeo was angry and therefore dueled with this Englishman and killed him, but not after being cut by this Englishman. It turned out this weapon had poison covering it and he would die without assistance from Marius. Marius couldn't bear to see Amadeo die and he gives him the dark gift and made him into a vampire.

Santino was the Coven leader of this coven and give Amadeo the choice between death or becoming apart of the Coven. Amadeo hungry for blood and frighten to die reluctantly agreed. He was later given a coven of his own in Paris and he and Alessandra left for Paris. Alessandra gives Amadeo the name Armand.

Armand left Louis but stayed in New Orleans visiting Lestat and staying there until he met a young reporter Daniel Malloy who had been the author of "Interview With The Vampire", Daniel still a mortal and Armand an immortal made a new Coven called The Night Island Coven. Where they would remain for quite sometime.
But in the mid-90s after listening to Lestat tale of "Memnoch The Devil" he tried to commit suicide but failed. He was nursed back to health by two mortals, Sybelle and Benji, who later became vampires at the hands of Marius.
