HISTORY
He was in charge of the Talamasca and devoted friend to many people under him. He was informed by his dearest friend Aaron Lighter about a young girl who had amazing powers who was called Merrick Mayfair he and Aaron convinced Merrick to join the Talamasca and have life where she can pick and choose which schools she attended and when. He watched over her closely and followed her on a mission to recover a mask that could see spirits, unfortunately he fell ill but did get better.
He later sent Jesse Reeves to uncover the truth about Interview With The Vampire and report back on anything she found of interest. Jesse had a nervous breakdown as she was supposed to have seen Clauida's ghost. Later on she was followed by David to Lestat's concert.
He became friends with the blood drinker Lestat and helped him recover his body after Raglan James had stolen it. In return David had been force into a new younger body and then force to take the dark gift from Lestat.
David chronicles vampire life stories as some sort of understanding of his kind. He later gets in contact with Merrick to help Louis get in touch with Claudia which leads to some painful moments for Louis.
CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH
He was given the dark gift by force, David's reasoning was that Lestat was jealous that David had gotten something out of the body switching experience while Lestat got nothing.
