Antha Mayfair was described as being very shy, thin, and a nervous girl the quite opposite of what her mother was. Like her mother and other family members she got expelled from quite a few Catholic schools because of the fiend Lasher. She could make him appear when ever she wanted him and the nun's where afraid of Antha's invisible friend. After the shooting of her mother Lionel was taken into custody where he was sent to a mental ward and Carlotta gained custody over Antha.
When she was seventeen she meant to break away from the family and ran away to New York and supported herself by selling rare and expensive coins. Then in 1938 she meets her love of her life in Sean Lacy and married him. She eventually turned her hand to writing and wrote a poem for the New Yorker and then one for a Parisian magazine. After falling pregnant, Sean was tragically killed in a car accident and sending Antha into a hysterical state which give Carlotta Mayfair the opportunity to have her committed and even trying to get rid of Antha's baby without her permission! Antha was committed to St. Ann's Asylum.
After recovering she realized that she was the rightful hair to the entire Mayfair fortune and estate. She began to write again and then give birth to Deirdre Mayfair.
Carlotta in blind frustration tried to blind Antha and then threw her out of the window and telling everyone that she had killed herself.
