Deborah Mayfair
-The Second Witch-
Born in Donnelaith in 1653 Deborah Mayfair was the daughter of a midwife called Suzanne Mayfair. After the death of Suzanne Mayfair, Deborah was escorted out of Donnelaith by Petyr van Abel and taken to Amsterdam's Talamaca's motherhouse where she would be safe as the witch trials never went to Amsterdam as the people of Amsterdam where more forward thinking then other people of the world. Deborah married a man called Roelant in the same year of going to Amsterdam. She spent many happy years in Amsterdam and her spirit fiend Lasher brought her expensive jewels and the most famous Mayfair emerald that is still passed down the generations. Coupling with Petyr van Abel near the end of her stay in Amsterdam give her first child Charlotte Mayfair who was always later know as Comte Montcleve's daughter when in fact she was Petyr van Abel's daughter.
When Deborah left Amsterdam and married Comte Montcleve she became known as Comtesse Deborah Mayfair de Montecleve. While married to Comte she bore two children by him both boys called Philippe and Chretien Montcleve. Deborah was always the loving wife and mother.
During a horse ride Comte fell from his horse in the forest and was taken home hoping the Deborah would heal him like she had done for many people before him. But unfortunately for Comte and Deborah she could not heal him as his injuries were too deep inside. Comte pleaded and pleaded with her to try and cure him. But finally after realizing that she would not or could not he accused her of witch craft and that she had poisoned him after Comte and an affair with another woman. The Comte's mother found a doll of her son crudely made out of wood, bone and eyes and accused her of trying to steal all the money and jewels when everyone really knew these things belonged to Deborah anyway. Her youngest son betrayed Deborah by telling people that he had seen her talking to the doll and thinking that it was from the devil and her older son Philippe had say he knew his mother was a witch. While her daughter Charlotte Mayfair fled on her mothers wishes after Deborah was arrested for witch craft.
Deborah gained the names 'Bride of Satan' and the 'Witch of Montcleve', because she had retained her beauty even after all the torture, starvation and the shaving of her head. Although the torture went on for ages she never confessed to the crimes she had been accused of and the only words she ever said was "Roelant, Roelant" and "Petyr" the villager's unaware of who these people where thought they where the name for the devil. The night before her execution Petyr van Abel came to visit her and she asked him to give her daughter a message for her and to also warn him not to be out the day of her execution. On the day of Deborah's execution she was led down to the stake to be burnt when she called forth Lasher, "come now, by Lasher, be my avenger, strike down my enemies!" "I see you, Lasher, I know you! I call you!" "Destroy my sons, destroy my accusers! Destroy those who have come to see me die!" Lasher did as she wished and at the end of it all the village was practically destroyed. A man called Louvier pushed Deborah from top of a building and she died, she was later burnt.
