Katherine Mayfair
-The Eighth Witch-
Katherine Mayfair was probably the nicest of the thirteen witches and she was the first Mayfair not to know her grandmother as Marie Claudette died just year before she was born. In 1857 Katherine with her older brother Julian bought land that would eventually become First Street (The Mayfair's present home).
Julian brought in Darcy Monahan, and both Katherine and Darcy fell in love with each other. Julian became insanely jealous and vowed to never step foot into that house if Katherine's and Darcy's relationship blossomed. Katherine asked permission from Julian if she could marry Darcy he refused because he thought her to be too young to take a husband. Katherine threatened to leave New Orleans and to never come back if she wasn't allowed to marry the man she loved. And under family pressure he reluctantly agreed.
In 1858 Katherine and Darcy moved into First Street and a year later they had a son who their named Clay Mayfair. She had a following three other children who all died at a young age then she had Vincent Mayfair followed by another two children who died at a young age. This tormented Katherine and it is believed that this broke her heart. And in 1871 her beloved husband Darcy dies of yellow fever.
Katherine pleaded with Julian to come and stay with her in which he did and he took the master's bedroom. Eventually with all the pain of the death of her children and the death of her husband she tried to commit suicide twice with poison but failed on both attempts. Eventually Julian thought it best for her and her children to move back to Riverbend and ten and a half months later she give birth to Mary Beth Mayfair who she claimed that Darcy was the father when in fact it was Julian's child from the after he had raped her. Katherine didn't make a massive impact on the Mayfair line and even Lasher moved his attention to Julian instead of Katherine. The slaves were never frightened of her.
