THE FUTURE OF THE VAMPRIE CHRONICLES AND THE MAYFAIR WITCHES
Anne in a recent phone message, Anne discusses her lost of her husband Stan Rice to cancer and the future of everyone's favourite vampire Lestat.
Anne has decided to finish The Vampire Chronicles and The Mayfair Witches Series after the upcoming book release in October 2003. Anne had the following to say:
"It will be the last of the vampires and the witches. It will be the very end. Of course, that's subject to change. But I don't think it's going to change. I think it's going to be the last book that I put before the world and desperately plead for: "Oh, but it's really about good and evil. Yes, yes I know it's vampires and witches, yes. But it's really about good and evil. It's about salvation, it's about damnation, it's about grace. I know it's about vampires and witches, yes, yes, BUT"....yeah, that going to end for me. That book at the end of 2003 will be the last one with which I approach the altar of God in convolution. There will be no more after that one....there will be no more. There may be life for Lestat, my vampire hero, there may be life for the Mayfair witches; there may be life for them, but they'll be on television or in the movies. I have great hopes for television, and what might do. But the books won't come from me anymore. Something entirely different will come. Something much more direct. But that last book will be published in October."
It's sad news for all of the chronicles fans but she does give into the possibilities of future movies and tv mini-series. Which would give steam to the long-awaited rumours that "The Vampire Lestat" is to be made into a mini-series. This year will also see the Mayfair Witch series turned into mini tv series.
All I can find on this novel coming out in oct 03 is that it may or may not be called Pandora III, and rumours flying about the internet suggest that it might be about Lestat and his "Angel Time" if you can remember in Blackwood Farm he mentions that he spent sometime with Angels who made him do stuff when he was unconscious state in Dora's tower? And other people say it could mightn't be that all. My opinion is that Anne might be finish where she started the chronicles at the beginning with Claudia's story. As Anne did give the impression she was looking at that exact story. Also there has been rumors that Pandora III isn't actually the title. I guess we'll have to wait and find out for ourselfs.

In other news Anne hopes to do a bit of touring to coincide with the release of the highly indispated final vampire chronicle in October 2003. (Dates and Places will appear on this site as we draw nearer to October).
